LGBT Human Rights Nash Mir Center expresses our extreme outrage at the failure of the Ukrainian government to move forward in legalizing registered partnerships for opposite-sex couples and same-sex couples in Ukraine (please see Report of the Ministry of Justice<\/a> Paragraph 105, Activity 6).<\/p>\n The respective intentions towards registered partnership were approved by Action Plan to Implement the National Strategy for Human Rights that was adopted after the victory of the Revolution of Dignity.<\/p>\n References to “Constitution of Ukraine, international treaties of Ukraine, other relevant legislation<\/em>” are beneath any criticism: domestic as well as international legislation do not limit the possibility of introducing registered partnership in Ukraine.<\/p>\n We also want to remind you that:<\/p>\n 1) An administrative court is currently considering the lawsuit of Nash Mir Center to the central government on the implementation of this item of the Action Plan (please see Case 826\/7111\/17 in the Unified State Register of Judgments<\/a>)<\/p>\n 2) Several complaints, which request Ukraine to stop discrimination against same-sex couples and to settle these issues, are still waiting for their consideration by the European Court of Human Rights.<\/p>\n Nash Mir Center is to say with our great regret that this demarche of a public authority constitutes a big step backward on human rights in Ukraine.<\/p>\n This is clearly contrary to global trends on the recognition of equal rights for LGBT people, particularly in family issues.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, it significantly hurts the Eurointegration aspirations of our country that were defended in the struggle by Ukrainian civil society and then declared and strengthened by the official authorities.<\/p>\n
